Ecc99 vs 12bh7 datasheet

May 12, 2010 · 12BH7 Listening Test! The 12BH7 shares many similarities to the 6SN7 (also a favorite tube around these parts), but is characterized by a darker sound. In the past, this tube was known simply as a favorite driver for the old Macintosh amps, or as an inexpensive alternative to the 5687 and the 12AU7.

ECC99 JJ Tesla Tube A new tube recently introduced by Tesla/JJ, combines electrical characteristics similar to 7119/E182CC (high transconductance and low plate resistance) with a pinout the same as 12AU7/ECC82 or 12BH7. Can be used in place of 12AU7 or 12BH7 in certain applications (like our Dynaco boards). 6GU7 IS a 12BH7 with a 6.3 volt filament. Look at the specs. 5687 looks good on paper and is fine for some things but when I tried rewiring an Altec 1569 to use them, there were problems with excessive control grid current tossing the voltages off. Replacing with 7119/E182CC fixed the problem (and E1822CC can swing a pile of voltage). >12BH7 would give lower distortion. Is it correct and is the 12BH7 a drop-in >replacement for the ECC83? The 12BH7 is a very different tube from the 12AX7. But if the designer says it will work in THIS application, you should assume it's OK to make the substitution.-Henry Title: Doc1.PDF Author: Unknown Created Date: Tuesday, April 09, 2002 9:50:08 PM

The 12BH7 is equivalent to the ECC99, and I think it provides a little bit more output power than a 6SN7, maybe a watt or two. Also the socket is cheaper, I think. Even though they're still being made, there's been a move away from octal preamp tubes since the mid 1950s, and very few new amps have them. Sep 26, 2009 · Same adapter as for the 12a*7 & 12bh7 The MPX3 puts about 160V on the plate of the "bottom" triode in the WCF, which looks like a nice voltage for the ECC99 BUT! I would note that the ECC99 will draw about twice as much current as 6sn7 in an MPX3 (about 25mA vs 8-12mA depending on exactly how the amp was built) This puts you very close to the ...
