NAV-Canada, the maker of Canadian charts, publishes effective dates, not expiration dates. They will update charts when they feel it's necessary, which could be 13 months or 20 months. Be assured that the charts in Sporty's inventory are the most current charts available from NAV-Canada.
The VFR Navigation Chart (VNC) is used by VFR pilots on short to extended cross-country flights at low to medium altitudes and at low to medium airspeeds. The chart displays aeronautical information and sufficient topographic detail to facilitate air navigation through the use of a unique colour scheme and layer tinting. There are 52 charts in the series. The scale is 1:500,000. The 2 Vancouver charts that were sent are a year outdated. Calgary was current as of February 2016. I'd expect current charts. SPORTY'S CUSTOMER SERVICE RESPONSE Thank you for the review. Unfortunately, Canadian charts work differently than American charts. Canadian VFR and IFR charts, as well as the Airport Facilities Directory, can be ordered online from vendors such as Sporty's and Map Town or from various official Canadian sources. Don’t be surprised, however, if the charts are not available by the scheduled valid date.
